The E.T. House
7121 Lonzo Street · Tujunga, CA
As hard as I've tried, I really can't come up with anything to say about this house. It hasn't been remodeled to disguise its appearance. It wasn't destroyed in an incredible feat of visual effects. It really doesn't have any interesting stories about it at all. At least, none that I've been able to uncover.
It's a nice house, I suppose. Located in the elbow of a quiet street, it sits atop an attention-monopolizing incline, shamelessly plagiarizing the majesty that rightfully belongs to the San Gabriel summit which towers behind it. It's not a house beyond notice. I guess it would be just the sort of place a forsaken alien might take refuge.
Still, save the fact that it was literally sealed in plastic for the climax of one of the most popular movies of all time, there really isn't anything to say about it. But, it is photogenic and makes for a nice drive all the same.
Update: Here's something interesting: In the film Charlie's Angels, Drew Barrymore makes a return appearance at this very house eighteen years later this time, nude.
